Mobile apps have become essential to go through our everyday life. And for working moms, it’s vital.
At first, mobile apps were used for games and social media. But that’s changed over the years. Now you can find an app for just about anything.
Mobile apps keep us connected with family and friends. They also keep us connected with colleagues when we’re not in the office. And there are also apps to help keep our health in check.
Must-Have Mobile Apps Every Working Mom Needs
As working moms, we’re pulled in all directions. At work, we’ve got meetings, reports and presentations. And at home there’s doctor appointments, soccer practice and recitals.
We need apps to keep up and make life a little easier. It’s a wonder how we ever got along without them.
Here are the top five favorites I use and recommend all working moms have on their phone.
1. Calm
As you know I love Calm. Why? It’s got 10-minute daily meditations that are bite sized and doable. Good for when you’re in a time crunch.
There’s also sleep stories for when you need something for your mind to focus on outside of all the thoughts that enter your head when it hits the pillow. My daughter also likes the sleep stories when she has a hard time sleeping. And there are many white noise options such as waves on the ocean.
2. Autosleep
Autosleep pairs with Apple Watch or you can use it on your iPhone. It’s not available for Android but they do have sleep tracker apps.
When it’s paired with Apple Watch it pulls in not just sleep data but also heartbeat respiration and oxygen saturation so you can see through the night how much restful sleep you’re actually getting. It can also delineate between deep and light sleep.
3. Mint
Mint is an app from Intuit that helps you see your accounts and how you’re doing financially. It can help you with budgeting and give you tips on how to better save or improve your credit. It’s available on iPhone and Android.
4. Audible
I love to read a hardcover book but when you’re on the go or busy with your hands it’s nice to have an app to read a book to you in the background.
I’ve also given my account information to my mother who is having trouble seeing. It’s wonderful to share how we are feeling about the same book we’re listening to at the same time.
5. Media Mobile Apps
Working moms need some downtime whether it’s taking walk, listening to music or reading.
For me it’s reading.
It’s nice to read a physical paper when you can but so often it’s just hard to get. Media apps are the next best thing to catch up on your favorite publications.
With these apps, you can quickly catch up on the news when you’re waiting in line at the post office or wherever.
I’m a bit old school here but I like to look at the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and The Economist with a little bit of BuzzFeed here and there.
I also really love the audio function for The Economist. That’s a dense publication and it’s nice to have it read to you in a lovely British accent!
That’s A Wrap
