“Love” is a strong word to apply to Mondays but think of it in relative terms after an intense weekend with family commitments, chores and a good dose of drama.
Confession #6 – I Secretly Love Mondays
There is something about “mom” that attracts problems (in my case I have all girls so it’s intensified). I am the go-to person for what feels like anything and everything including:
- Friend issues and drama
- IT issues – “mom the WI-FI doesn’t work!”
- Purchases – mom I need a new (fill in the blank)
- Homework
I am lucky enough to have a husband who picks up a great deal of slack in many other departments but for some reason, I am mostly the first line of defense.
So can you blame me for looking forward to a bit of quiet time in the office on Monday morning? Even with a busy day, there is a sense of peace, even relief, when the work week starts – relatively of course.
And when my kids were little, Monday meant intellectual stimulation and grown up interaction. I could exchange diapers and rice cereal for marketing research reports and conference calls with adults.
